The movie was taken with the Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) aboard the Hinode satellite - using the wavelength of ionized calcium. You can see hot (8,000 to 20,000 C) plasma rising and falling above the surface of the sun, often following magnetic field lines. Please rate and comment, thanks!
